Richard Baland

Americans are living longer than ever. The odds are 50-50 today that if you reach your 64th birthday you will live another 20+ years. And there is a 28% possibility that one or both members of a couple who are 65-years-old today will live to age 97!

This means you will have more time to enjoy your ministry and family–including your children, grandchildren and even some great-grandchildren. That is part of the good side of longevity. Yet, there are downsides to longevity. One relates to your retirement money—it has to last longer.

This is particularly a problem for people in ministry. Research shows that ministers are some of the least prepared for retirement. Messenger Ministries professionals are available to members to address matters that in particular have impact on Christians and their money.
